Carelink is a non profit charity that survives on private donations, tax breaks, educational grants, and grants from the governments. CareLink is a Financial Assistance program and does not provide any medical services. CareLink is a financial assistance program of University Health System. CareLink is not insurance. The CareLink program is available to eligible Bexar County residents who do not have health insurance and do not qualify for other programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and VA.
CareLink offers families an affordable monthly payment plan that is based on their income and family size. The income cannot exceed 300% Federal Poverty Level (FPL) to qualify for any program within CareLink.
Appears to me you depend on the kindness and generosity of strangers charity. Must be nice to let someone else pay your bills and only pay a very little of your own cost. My taxes might go down if.....oh only if.

I am one of the people in this country that dont have health insurance. I dont make a lot of money, I am self employed because I have back problems and cant work. I dont get any government assistance of any kind, I can make enough money at what I do to survive pretty good.
I get on a program that our county hospital offers, its called carelink, and you pay in accordance to how much you make, its a type of insurance for the poor, I get damn good care through the county and this program, probably even better than my wifes insurance. I dont understand what the dems kepp talking about, we already have free health care for the poor in this country.
This health care bill is nothing more than a government take over of your rights. it does nothing for the already insured. watch your freedoms be taken away in the name of health. If they believe its unhealthy they will take it away, red meat, fast cars, motorcycles, guns, ciggarettes, alcohol , fatty foods,and whatever they see fit.
They know better than you.
Dont be fooled into thinking this somehow benefits you, the un-insured or the insured. They do not care in fixing or reducing health care costs.
They seek control.
