If tort reform is such a good thing, why have insurance premiums in Texas doubled (and in some cases more) in the last 10 years? The rise in premiums have been not only for ordinary health insurance but the malpractice insurance as well. The cost of living hasn't doubled so why is insurance cost gone so out of sight? Can it be the insurance companies have gotten overly greedy and need to have profit limits and CEO salary caps imposed?

Pelosi bill states that trial lawyers are to be protected, and individual states will not get funds if they institute tort reform.
Guess what, Texas already does, so it looks like we either wont get money or that law has to be appealed.
