This position requires a senior level Microsoft SQL Server DBA who will be responsible for all of the daily support, maintenance, monitoring, performance analysis, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and user assistance required of MS SQL Server databases.
The areas of user assistance will involve providing guidance, best practices, and assistance in any area of the entire application infrastructure associated with or to the databases managed. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for all problems and issue trend analysis, including present and future capacity planning for all of the resources required of the databases being managed.
This individual will also participate in Information Technology projects from inception of the project up and through the daily maintenance phase of a project as the primary DBA.
This individual will be required to provide input into new and existing projects relative to MS SQL Server.
Requirements;
7 to 10+ years of experience managing MS SQL Server databases, with at least the last 3-5+ years as a senior MS SQL DBA on all aspects of MS SQL 2000 and 2005 with major responsibilities in an enterprise database environment.
- Experience in MS SQL database backup/recovery, security, patching, performance tuning, query optimization, etc.
- Hands-on experience implementing and supporting SQL Server 2000/2005 in a Windows clustered environment.
