Metrica is currently in search of a Software Engineer. This individual will develop and/or maintain operating systems, communications software, database packages, compilers, assemblers, and utility programs. Modify existing and create special purpose software and ensure systems efficiency and integrity. Estimate software development cost and schedule, oversee software configuration management, interpreting software requirements and design specifications, manage/perform independent verification and validation, manage integration, and software test activities.
Must have experience managing or performing software engineering activities. Work may require expertise in the following areas:
• 4GL, object-oriented, client-server development tools (Visual Basic, .NET, etc.)
• Database technology (e.g., SQL, ODBMS, RDBMS (e.g. SQL Server, MS ACCESS, ODBC))
• Network Operating System environments (Windows Server 2003, UNIX, etc.)
• Electronic publishing tools, techniques, and environments (Active Server Pages, XML, etc.)
• Internet Web Technology, such as design and implementation of Web pages and servers
Must possess a bachelor’s degree, in a related IT Field, and at least 5 years’ experience.
