Senior Data Architect - Enterprise Marketing Management
Position Summary:
The Data Architect is expected to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of intelligent information to the business enterprise through database and data warehousing solutions and strategies. The Data Architect must be able to understand strategic business objectives, and develop and apply data architecture solutions for business intelligence. The Data Architect must have capabilities in conceptual analysis, problem solving and data analysis of technical and business information systems.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The Data Architect is involved in all aspects of solution delivery, including strategic planning, design, development and implementation. The architect participates in, and advises key technical development teams throughout the systems development lifecycle. This includes defining Enterprise data strategies, gathering and prioritizing user/client requirements, defining key business performance indicators and metrics, source systems, metadata requirements, interface requirements, and delivery mechanisms. The Data Architect is responsible for resolving development and functional issues in order to meet user requirements.
The Data Architect develops partnerships with users/clients and other solution support practices such as third parties. This individual works closely with senior management, facilitating design meetings to drive data architecture and business intelligence solutions.
Major Responsibilities:
• Ability to analyze and assess current infrastructure, providing architectural direction to meet the needs of user/client requirements.
• Ability to identify necessary components of a data architecture and standards, and processes to effectively guide the management of data within the enterprise.
• Provide technical leadership by acting as an interface to project management, business intelligence and solutions practices.
• Implement and oversee the completion of requirements definitions, functional specifications, systems and technical architecture definition, design and construction as it relates to data warehousing, datamarts and delivery mechanisms.
• Participate in technical design reviews providing insight to optimize techniques for various data access methods and technology selections. Participate in design and development reviews to ensure appropriate due diligence is applied to data integrity and enterprise standards.
Position Requirements:
• Minimum of 10+years of professional experience in data management and database technology
• Recent hands-on related experience as a senior data architect.
• Recent experience with marketing industry solutions such as Unica, Chordiant, Epiphany, and/or Aprimo is required.
• Proven leadership and strategic insight of technical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to provide ebusiness solutions with high quality.
• Strong written, verbal , negotiation, presentation and process facilitation skills.
• Strong data modeling skills, deep understanding of relational and multi-dimensional databases, normalization, metadata management, and SQL.
• Oracle, DB2, SQL Server RDBMS experience.
• Ability to interact with technical and business representatives at all levels of the enterprise.
