Menstrually- Migraine Research Study � This clinical research study is evaluating the effectiveness of an investigational birth control pill for treating menstrually-related migraine headaches (headaches that occur just before or during the first few days of your menstrual period). Non-smoking women 18 to 34 years of age who meet the study criteria may qualify. This study is approximately 20 weeks long with 5 study visits and compares an investigational drug to placebo, a look alike drug that does not have any active medicine. Although the investigational drug is a birth control pill, the purpose of this study is not to prevent pregnancy, so you must be willing to use a non-hormonal form of birth control for the duration of the study. There is a new clinical research that may be of interest to you. The study is for men and women who have Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD). PAD is also known as �hardening of the arteries�. In PAD, the inside of the blood vessel becomes narrow and blood flow is reduced. PAD affects about 12 million people in the US. It can lead to serious health problems such as stroke, heart attack, or amputation. Early symptoms of PAD may include cramping, or pain in the legs and heavy or tired legs while exercising or at rest. Only about one third of all people with PAD feel pain. Most people with PAD have no symptoms at all.

Stents are commonly used in blood vessels to improve blood flow. DURABILITY II is a research study that will test the safety and use of a particular stent called the PROT�G�� EverFlex� Stent System (EverFlex Stent) to improve blood flow in the leg and foot compared to balloon angioplasty. All patients who meet the study criteria and who provide informed consent will undergo angioplasty followed by stenting using the EverFlex stent. You will be asked to return for a visit at 30 days, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years and 3 years.

This study may be right for you if you:

Etosha Rescue has been rescuing dogs for over 20 years. They have saved literally thousands of lives from a grisly end at the pound.

Now Bonney Williams, the head of Etosha, needs help. She needs help with both caring for the 150 dogs she has on site, as well as the administrative aspects of running a 501(c)3 organization, such as soliciting donations, grant writing, picking up dog food, etc.

Etosha is outside of Seguin, near exit 609, I think it is. So if you're going to volunteer at the facility, you need to be able to get to Seguin. (even one or 2 days a month would be great!) But if you are interested in grant writing, etc, that can be done from anywhere in the area, with only an occasional trip to see Bonney in Seguin.

Please help this incredible organization before they have to close their doors!!!

Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to non-formal education techniques, intercultural learning and group dynamics in general, and in how it is specifically practiced in Thai schools.
Special requirements: Good level of English and the will to teach it to kids is necessary.

Brief history of the project: Volunteers are needed in Nyahera Health Centre, located in the small town Nyahera, not far from Kisumu city in Nyanza Province.
Volunteer work: Volunteers' major duties include:
� Attending to patients.
� Responsible for day-to-day coordination with the hospital staff and patients to ensure performance of the hospital operation.
� Counseling of the patients.
Note: All these duties will be directed by the hospital senior management.
All volunteers are also required to bring a letter of approval from the Ministry of Health or a University in their country.
The volunteers will be working from Monday to Saturday. The number of hours will be decided by the hospital management.
Special requirements: Doctors, nurses, paramedics, pre-med students and medical students are required for this project. However, we have an open policy and applicants with other ideas to share are also welcome to apply and will be considered.
Volunteers need to contribute/initiate ideas and by that would be promoting the growth of the Hospital. This is an opportunity for the volunteers to work at a community/grassroot level in capacity building and training in self-sustainability.
Language: English
Duration of the project: The program will run for a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 6 months. The program is running throughout the year.
Orientation: Orientation meeting will take place in Nairobi before proceeding to the project.
