This is for a rare original John Farnsworth kachina doll painting titled "Navajo Sandpainter." The image is striking and the color tones are beautiful. The sandpainter is creating a kachina doll in front of your eyes. He is even wearing a silver & turquoise cuff bracelet and a ring. Great composition. This is so special it needs to hang in a prominent area like an entry.
This is the ultimate Farnsworth. These never come up for sale because the owners never let them go.
The condition shows a few blemishes here and there including scrapes all around the front of the frame. They won't show up because of the gold finish reflection. These can be retouched if you don't want to re-frame it. The deepest scrape is shown. The fabric matte has a stain or two which might clean up with a quality laundry pen. Another trick with fabric is to just re-color the stain with a color-matched pen. That is up to the new owner.
Another tag on the back says "Property of John Goodman" likely the first owner. There is also an auction house number written on the back of the frame.
