Looking as if they've trekked from the far corners of the earth, a line of elephants trudges across the barren flats of Kenya's Amboseli National Park to reach a water hole. Seasonal rains will eventually turn the plains green with fresh grass. Poaching and habitat loss have reduced the elephant populations to these scattered herds in protected areas.
