Selling my 1996 Mercedes-Benz S600 project car. This is the flagship W140 sedan with the legendary hand-built M120 6.0L V12. She runs and drives fine, but needs work to be restored properly.
✅ The good:
• Runs and drives — recently drove it from South Carolina to Dallas, then to San Antonio.
• A/C was blowing cold until recently (likely compressor issue).
• Rear hydraulic accumulators replaced.
• New fuel pump and filter.
• New tires and battery.
• All major systems function, including suspension firmness button.
• Legendary Mercedes build quality — these cars are rare and collectible.
❌ The issues:
• Transmission pan gasket leaks.
• Rough idle (likely tune-up needed).
• Check engine light is on (reason unknown).
• Only driver’s window works; other window regulators need repair.
• Gas tank level sensor broken.
• Central locking doesn’t work (likely PSE pump).
• Suspension warning light, ABS light, and brake wear light on.
• Seats, dash, and sunroof cover have rips/tears.
• Needs full repaint.
