TITLE: Food Service Worker

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
FUNDING SOURCE: Foundation School Program
COMPENSATION: Southwest Preparatory Board Approved Pay Schedule

REPORTS TO: Assistant Child Nutrition Director

EMPLOYMENT
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a High School Diploma, 1 year experience in the food service industry, preferably in a school setting. Must have or be able to obtain a food service worker license.


BASIC FUNCTION: Maintains a program that meets the federal guidelines for the child nutrition meal patters as approved by the Texas Department of Agriculture.

RESPONSIBILITIES
AND DUTIES:
Keep current master lists of all applications and certified students

Maintains standards of sanitation which are in conformity with local and state codes and displays certificate in food service area.

Maintains an inventory of all food and supplies for the program.

Submits all required reports timely.

Participates in CNP audits

Assists in the preparation and serving of meals in a quick and pleasant manner

Serves students from the food service counter

Assists in the daily cleanup of the service areas and dining tables

Assists in the storage and disposal of unused foods

Performs related duties as required including duties at special meal functions;

Willingness and ability to work with others, to share and cross-train in order to promote the concept of "teaming" and "a team approach" in order to meet the program needs. Other assigned duties as they relate to the CNP

SPECIAL
CONSIDERATIONS: Ability to communicate and interact successfully with a diverse student population and to develop and maintain positive professional relationships with colleagues;
Ability to work both independently and as a team member;

Attention to detail

Required to submit FBI fingerprinting and satisfactorily past a criminal background check.

WORKING
CONDITIONS Maintain emotional control under stress; frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing is required; move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks and other classroom equipment; must be able to frequently walk up and down stairs; At times, must be able to life 20 pounds repeatedly.
