Job duties:
Hand watering the garden beds and flowered landscaping Monday - Friday
Pulling weeds as needed in garden beds and the grounds
Distributing soil and mulch in large quantities frequently across the property with a pitchfork/shovel and wheelbarrow
Regularly fertilizing gardens and flowers
Applying organic pesticides to gardens as needed
Planting new plant starts and flowers when needed
Removing trash from grounds and parking lots
Cutting grass with riding lawn mower and using an edger as needed
Mucking out the barn yard and stalls
Experience and Skills
Prior experience with successful gardening is required. We are looking for someone with knowledge of how to care for plants and maintain a healthy garden.
This is a physical position at times. You should be able to do outdoor manual labor comfortably in various types of weather. Extreme temperatures will be considered of course, but this is an outdoor working position.
Prior experience and knowledge of riding lawn mowers and edgers is required.
Experience with children is a plus! It is not required, but definitely beneficial to be able to interact with the children and help them while they are in the garden with harvesting, watering, and other garden tasks.
