I primarily use domestic kiln-dried hardwoods for my pieces and stay away from the home improvement store pine lumber. Quality furniture that is going to last and be treasured starts with quality materials so I don't scrimp on that. Some of the wood species that I use are rustic alder, rustic cherry, rustic pecan/hickory, oak, walnut, and mesquite to name just a few.
Need a particular size? I can work with you to find what size would work best in the space that you have. Want that special color of paint or stain? I can make it happen and provide you with custom paint/stain/distressing samples for you to view and select from.
Prices for the tables, benches, chairs and other pieces of furniture are reasonable for the quality that you're receiving and depend on the overall size, species of wood used, style of legs chosen as well as the finishing options you select. What I can't, and won't do is try to compete with the prices of the imported furniture from foreign countries such as Asia or Mexico. This is not bargain priced or entry priced furniture.
The furniture I make is built the way you want it made --- whatever size, whatever stain/paint/distressing --- all custom made just for you and your unique space. I'd be honored to work with you to design a table, or any other type of furniture/custom cabinet for that matter, that is as totally unique as you.
