There is a unique history on this guitar. I am including a link below. In a nutshell, it seems Fender created a fabulous guitar and then discontinued it in order to aaccqire a licensing agrrement from with Gretsch. At any rate, this is a guitar that you won't regret.
The DeArmond M70 is a late-90s/early-2000s Korean-made solid-body electric guitar produced by Fender under the Guild brand. Often compared to a Les Paul, it features a mahogany body, set neck, and distinctive "Goldtone" pickups known for a bright, clear tone with a slightly wider, unique body shape compared to traditional single-cut models.
Key Features and Details
Pickups: Equipped with DeArmond Goldtone humbuckers, which are generally considered high-quality, articulate, and less muddy than standard humbuckers.
Construction: Features a mahogany body and neck with a rosewood fingerboard.
Bridge: Typically features a slanted stop bar tailpiece.
Distinctions: Unlike the higher-end M72 or M75 models, the M70 generally lacks body binding.
