Up for sale is this nice Lisle handmade violin (Model 117) – asking $400 cash ONLY (no payment apps or money orders), or best offer. All sales as-is, first come/first serve, no holds, POMS; serious buyers are welcome to size/fit-test, inspect/play, etc. before buying.
This is the model 117 from Lisle, which is roughly along the same fine quality of instrument as Antonio Strad’s “Dynasty” series of violins for more serious student players, and enthusiasts looking for a nicer instrument than your standard entry level grade-school level violin.
According to Lisle, this instrument was made in 2007, meaning the tone wood has aged 17 years, and although as you can see from the photos that it has some marks and wear reflecting its age and use, there appear to be major structural issues or cracks in the face, back, and side plates. The back features handsome tiger striping, a world apart from the cheap no-name mass production violins available from China.
All four tuning pegs feature the nice ‘Persian eye’ inlay; this violin was recently refurbished by Antonio Strad here in town with new high quality student grade strings, and the reapplication of peg compound; I was told by the staff that they guessed this to be a roughly $700-$800 violin.
Comes with the hard case, and bow pictured.
