RE: Shady Posts on the Music Community Forum (SA)

CL musicians has evolved into a musical flea market.

It started as a place where local musicians could share ideas and post local music-related topics. Now, it's become a place where every Tom-Dick-'n-Harry from anywhere on the planet tries to sell stuff, and people don't even seem to care.

Don't support these clowns, people, ESPECIALLY the ones from outside San Antonio. Lately, we've had ads here from San Diego, Los Angeles, and numerous other places not local to San Antonio. Austin has its own CL Musicians category, but we see posts here from Austin regularly. Did you know that's a violation of the Craigslist Terms of Use? It is; non-local posts are among the many things that list specifically prohibits.

But these people don't care - they continue to violate the Terms Of Use we all agree to before we publish our posts - why? Simply because no one does anything about it, and it's "free".

Craigslist is based on a "self-policing" policy - it places users in control, and Craigslist provides all of us a remedy for posts that violate the rules. You CAN do something to clean up CL Musicians, and it's easy.

At the top of every post, there's a "Flag" icon, and the CL staff reviews flagged posts for propriety and compliance with the rules. USE that flag icon whenever you see a post that shouldn't be here. You can read the Craigslist Prohibited list at The more "Flags" a post receives, the more likely the CL staff will take action and delete the post.

Do your part to help keep SA CL Musicians a place where we MUSICIANS can come to discuss SA MUSIC topics, and help keep the rules violators OUT OF HERE.
