Mission Road Ministries is a non-profit organization serving more than 825 children & adults with intellectual & other developmental disabilities each day with residential, day services & vocational programs in San Antonio, Texas helping clients reach independence, productivity & inclusion in the community.
1. Medical Administration
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician order and nursing delegatory standards.
2. First Aid
a. Perform client assessments and treatments for minor illnesses and injuries.
b. Document all assessments and treatments performed.
c. Communicate with nursing staff any assessments, treatments, findings on a daily basis.
3. Clerical duties
a. Assist nursing staff in verifying and inventorying prescriptions as they are delivered.
b. Measure and record vital statistical data as required to include, but not limited to, height, weight, intake/output, and vital signs.
c. Work independently when nursing staff is not in the clinic. However, consult with nursing staff via telecommunication for questions or any non-routine occurrences.
d. Act as clinic contact in regards to reinforcement of health care teaching planned or provided by the RN.
e. Make visits to client's individual home for evening medication pass or as requested.
**Other duties may be assigned.**
Requirements: HS Diploma/GED, Certified Medical Assistant, at least 21 years old, 6 months of related experience. Experience working with children or the developmentally disabled preferred.
Shift: 2p-10p: rotating days (This shift is non-negotiable)
