Camillus N.Y. #72 Swell Center Carpenter's & Whittler's Knife

Extremely Rare in this condition - Camillus N.Y. #72 Carpenter's & Whittler's knife's golden years were from 1946 to 1950. This Camillus #72 was made from 1947 to 1950 -- the 1946 #72 model having a different blade configuration -- with a quality and craftsmanship that was unmatched by any other period before or after the existence of Camillus N.Y. Cutlery, from 1906 to 2006. The quality of materials used and precision in craftsmanship for each pocket knife made during this period produced the very best quality knives by Camillus.

The blades of this period are known for their Gator Like Strong open and close snaps that have held up through the years, to this day. They are also known for never going soft or becoming loose, as in the blades developing a side to side wobble.

Knives of this period, with the highly sought after Rogers Jigged Bone Handles/Covers in this Like NEW condition are extremely rare to find anywhere.

This Camillus Model #72 Carpenter's Whittler's knife has very strong open close snaps on all three blades with zero wobble. And you can be sure this knife will last a life time.

Description:

The three Hand Forged 1095 High Carbon Steel blades are as follows:

1 Main Sabre Grind Clip Blade with Match Striker/Long Pull

1 Companion Coping Blade

And 1 Smaller Clip Blade at the Opposing End.

Knife has Solid Nickel Silver Bolsters, Brass Liners and the highly sought after Rogers Jigged Bone Handles.
(Harvested only from the oldest cattle that grazed the tough terrains of Australia for its denser bone - makes them much more resistant to breaks, cracks or chips)

At 3 5/8 inches in the closed position, this knife is very pocket friendly.

As an extremely rare item, this knife will make a very special and unexpected Christmas Gift.
